Philodendron white princess higly variegated plants in 9 cm pots

Philodendron White Princess has variegation similar to that of White Wizard combining sparkling white with teal, dark & light greens.  However the leaves are larger & more pointed at the end.  It is also a much more compact plant being of the type which the trade calls self headers.  This means that they require little support & grow shrubby without being pruned.  This makes for a stunning plant which is very easy to keep happy.

Like all philodendron’s your White Princess will enjoy a spot with good but mostly indirect light.  When there is direct light on the leaves this should be in the early morning or late afternoon so a spot in an East or West facing room or to one side of a South facing window is ideal.

Water your Philodendron White Princess only when the growing medium has completely dried out.   Then remove it from its cover pot and, avoiding the leaves, completely drench the root ball.  If the medium is very dry, this may mean watering it more than once.  You will know that the root ball has been adequately watered when excess is draining from all the holes at the bottom of the pot.  Let that excess completely drain before replacing it in its cover pot.

Philodendrons are vines and in the wild their aim is to getting high up into their host trees towards the light.  In the home this can make them hard to deal with over time as anyone with a Monstera will attest.  Philodendron White Princess is one of the cultivars which are bred specifically so that the leaves form very closely together on the stem.  This makes for a compact plant which will stay shrubby.
