This is such a vibrant easy going plant it is not surprising it has become one of the classic house plants. It lived with us for centuries and was first identified by European's in the 18th Century where it was found by plant hunters growing in tropical forests in North & South America. It is an epiphyte growing up & on trees but is also found crawling on rock cracks, rotten logs and the forest ground. It prefers warm, moist, shaded conditions so in your house this makes for a very versatile plant.
Positioning
A versitile plant which will be happy in a range of light levels from a position with no direct light to one where it does receive direct light onto its leaves but only in the early morning, or late afternoon, when the light is less intense.
Watering
Only water your Pepermoia rotundifolia when the medium has competely dried out. Then take the plant out of its cover pot and water thoroughly ensuring that the root ball is completely drenched. You can use this as an opportunity to clean the plant's leaves. Let all the excess drain way before replacing the plant in its cover pot.
Growth Habits
This is a slow growing plant with very fine roots which will remain fairly compact making it an ideal table plant. When it flowers these are lime green florescents which will appear above the leaf rosettes.
