Opuntia quitensis easy care indoor red & orange flowering cactus
This is a naturally occuring member of an ancient species of cactus with about 150 members with largest range of any cactus in the United States . They can be found from New Mexico in the South to Florida & Massachusetts. It has vivid green small flattened pads covered in glochids with white or cream spines. Their flowers are 1cm across daisy like in structure they are vivid orange, yellow and red & in this country start to develop towards mid Autumn onwards and open over a period of 6 to 8 weeks giving you a splash of cheering colour. As the photo show these are mature plants which are currently in bloom.
