Hoya carnosa 'Tricolor Flamingo Dream' trailing & flowering scarlet leaves

A stunning Hoya Carnosa hybrid with bright scarlet young leaves which contrast with vivid green oval shaped leaves with a white margin.  It is a hybrid of Tricolor and Hoya Carnosa Crimson leaves taking the colour from the former and the leaf shape and growing habit of the latter.   If you have a fondness for Hoyas you will love this rare find hybrid.  As with all carnosas it will enjoy a spot in your house which has good, but mostly, indirect light where it will happily trail or climb.  It likes to dry out completely between waterings which makes for an easy care plant.  It will also flower which you can encourage more of by remembering to feed it regularly in the growing season.  

Your Hoya Carnoa Flamingo Dream will appreciate a spot in very good, but mostly indirect, light.  This could be in a West or East facing window where it will get direct light in the morning or late afternoon.  Or further back in a South facing room.  It grows happily in the humidity levels of an average house.

As with all Hoyas your Hoya Carnosa Flamingo Dream is drought tolerant having some capacity to store water in its leaves.  Wait until the growing medium is completely dry and the leaves look a little dull and feel thin.  Then completely drench the plant and its medium.  This is a good opporunity to clean the plants leaves.  Let it the excess completely drain away before replacing it in its cover pot.

Your Hoya Carnosa Flamingo Dream makes for a airy trailing plant but if you prefer can be suported to climb.  It can also be grown as a wall mounted plant as it has very fine roots.  This is an attractive way of growing these plants as their flowers hang down and can be more easily admired if the plant is wall mounted.
