Hoya parasitica 'Splash'

£42.50Price

Bring the beauty of the outdoors inside with this stunning Hoya Parasitica 'Splash'. A cultivar of a tropical evergreen climbing shrub native to humid climates in South Asia, Australia, and Polynesia and tropical rain forests.  Most Hoyas are undemanding house guests but this one, with its thickly succulent leaves, even more so.  This cultivar has the vivid green heart shaped fleshy leaves of its wild relative but these are liberally covered in silver splashes.  Find in a spot in good, but mostly indirect light, and it will thrive producing exceptional flowers which smell wonderful.  Structured in the classic Hoya form with clusters of star shaped flowers these are creamy pinkish white with a dark purple centre.

Like all epiphytic Hoyas this wants to climb, indeed it was formerly called verticillata in reference to its desire to do so.  Provide in with early support and you can have an indoor plant clambering up a support structure as it flowers. This plant prefers temperatures between 18-27 but will tolerate slightly cooler temperatures as long as it does not go below about 10. It will also appreciate higher humidity levels but, again, will survive without as long as you avoid placing it near radiators or other sources of heat which dry out the air.  It will particulalry love living in a bathroom or kitchen where humidity levels tend to be higher.

Supplied in a 10.5cm pot with comprehensive care instructions
