Coropegia woodii AKA String of hearts trailing plant
Originating from South Africa this has been a popular houseplant in European homes for over a century and has many common names including String of Hearts, the Sweetheart Vine and the Rosary vine. It is an evergreen semi-succulent trailing vine that grows to 10 centimetres in height and can grow over 2 metres in length. Its leaves are shaped like hearts, about 1–2 cm wide and long. When exposed to sufficient light they have a deep green colour; under insufficient lighting the leaves are pale green. Its flowers grows to 1.5cm in length and is a mixed colouring of off-white and pale magenta. The five petals are a deeper purple.
