Plant Bio :
Begonia 'Silver Jewel', a lush, compact begonia, is a hybrid between Begonia pustulata and Begonia imperialis. Silver Jewell is a rhizomatous begonia which produces leaves from a ground stem or rhizome. These types of Begonias are grown for their beautifully patterned and textured leaves. Here the leaves are almost heart shaped & deeply textured and metallic silver with dark green patchy patterning. When it flowers these are clusters of tiny lemon/cream & are produced on short stems which rise up from the cluster of leaves
Positioning
Position your Begonia 'Silver Jewel' in a spot with very good light but avoid letting the intense midday sun shine directly onto the leaves as this will result in the leaves becoming yellowed & crispy at the margins.
Watering
Water your Begonia 'Silver Jewel' when the top 1/3 of the growing medium feels dry to the touch & the plant looks a little dull. Avoid getting large drops of water on the leaves and, if you cannot access the top of the growing medium, opt to under rather than over water this plant.
