Begonia Rex CHAYO Metallic silvery pink, green and purple begoina in 10cm pot

With its metallic silvery pink, green and purple leaves this lovely little begonia is a slow growing treat.  Perfect for a kitchen or a bathroom as, like all Rex Begonias, it likes to be kept warm, ideally kept in temperatures above 15°c, and enjoys humidity.  These requirements also make it an ideal plant for a terrarium.  Originating in Northeastern India, Southern China and Vietnam, Rex Begonias grow in the under stories of evergreen trees so like bright, but mostly indirect, light.  The leaf colour will vary depending on the light conditions and too much light will result in a discolouration of the leaves.  These plants need regular watering and prefer to be kept moist but not damp.  Water when the top of the growing medium feels dry.  Kept well these plants can reach a height of 30cm.
